Why immigrants keep flocking to the shores of United States ?? ...

India with 1.22 billion people, ie 122 crores of people is at the same time a great powerhouse of ideas and has all the potential to be a big headache for the world.

With a median age of 26.8 years, ie. 610 million people below the age of 26.8 years, it holds a great promise for the development of India and for catapulting it to the forefront of the nations - if only every Indian acted in unison and with a single minded purpose , to take the country forward. The good thing is that democratic credentials of the country, the greatest and largest democracy in world history, India does not carry a big baggage of having carried out oppression against any people of the world.

Throughout its history India has only been invaded and on every occasion, it has assimilated the positive things from the invading forces and discarded the negative features. At two times in its recorded history of 9000 years,  people have migrated from its shores to other parts of the world. Both the times it has been slaves, first time it was manual slaves, to do manual petty jobs working as slaves in tea and coffee plantations in Africa, West Indies, Sri Lanka (Ceylon) etc in the 1700s and then later in the 1960s onwards when they have been moving out as intellectual slaves to Europe, US, Australia etc..

In contrast, United states of America which over 500 years since the first white immigrant landed landed on the shores of North America has engaged in planned genocide of the original inhabitant and the original owner of the land, the native American Indian, 50-100 million of them, worse than the Nazis under Adolf Hitler.

Unlike India, US is founded on blood and violence and will carry this guilt throughout.  As a natural consequence of its actions, US will be subject to untold violence and genocide. It is nature's irrefutable theory of consequential actions.

Nature cannot differentiate between good deeds and bad deeds, only carries forward the consequences of one's actions. In spite of this , immigrants from all parts of the world still keep flocking to that land, do not know what attracts so much people to its shores - the smell of blood of the original owners ?

Educating the common man of the dangers of immigration may help only little, but even if I am able to convince even one person from immigrating to US, it will be a great deed for the peace of the butchered. massacred souls of millions of original American Indians.

Lessons from the Tennis ball Kaizen game

These are some of the learnings from the "Tennis ball Kaizen game" (played during March 2014 in class) which came from the students. Some of them are profound and thought provoking !
Gr 1 -        "The major take away from the game were team work co-ordination and 'Yes We can' attitude. The goal setting aspect was very persuasive in making us work harder. As the process times kept on decreasing with our competitors, there was an environment which fostered development and continuous improvement. The game also gave us an opportunity to do out of box thinking and all barriers for our ideas were removed"

Gr 2 - "We were more interested in knowing the positions of the players which will help increase the effectiveness and reduce the overall cycle time."

Gr 3 - "Continuous Improvement / Kaizen helps reduce the wastage of time and the task can be completed in shorter time period in an effective and efficient manner"

Gr 4 -  "Lean thinking plays a key role in making successful and decisive strategies. Waterfall strategy played a significant role to reduce the time duration to a great extent. Communication and mutual understanding is inherently linked to the core of making these strategies. Better understanding creates better opportunities for success."

Gr 5 - "The game helped to develop a way of thinking in us to reduce the process time and reduce waste continuously leading to continuous improvement."

Gr 6 - "The game helped us in forming teams, getting members involved in the task while teaching the "we can" attitude which is necessary for continuous improvement "

Gr 7 - "The game was all about  team building, problem solving, problem identification, continuous improvement

Gr 8 - "Lean is involving everybody in the project or activity or process to creatively come up with improvement ideas while managers get out of the way

Gr 9 - " Lean is all about getting people directly involved with a process to creatively come up with improvement ideas while managers get out of the way "

Gr 10 - "The game taught us a powerful lean lesson of team work, direct involvement and continuous improvement

Crime against native Indians of N America ..

Only a great and sensible mind like that of Martin Luther King does have the courage to call a spade a spade ...
Martin Luther King Jr., a very
sensible personality ..
"Our nation was born in genocide when it embraced the doctrine that the original American, the Indian, was an inferior race. Even before there were large numbers of Negroes on our shore, the scar of racial hatred had already disfigured colonial society. From the sixteenth century forward, blood flowed in battles over racial supremacy.
We are perhaps the only nation which tried as a matter of national policy to wipe out its indigenous population. Moreover, we elevated that tragic experience into a noble crusade. Indeed, even today we have not permitted ourselves to reject or feel remorse for this shameful episode.
Our literature, our films, our drama, our folklore all exalt it. Our children are still taught to respect the violence which reduced a red-skinned people of an earlier culture into a few fragmented groups herded into impoverished reservations"- Martin Luther King Jr.

Strong words from the black leader Martin luther. It is not that there are no sensible voices inside US pricking the conscience of the average American.

Isin't it a shame on Americans ? Why is it that nobody is protesting it ? is it really a shame to wrong earlier actions of ones forefathers done of a racist mindset and ignorance ? Have US citizens ever thought that their land was founded on blood and violence ?

Nazis of Germany killed only 6 million Jews out of racial hatred ( a similar fascist attitude is being displayed by the ignorant fascists in India under the extreme right wing fundamentalists ) but the forefathers of the present generation of the original US immigrants exterminated many many more . Historians say from a population of 50 million in US around 1492, a community which was extremely proud of its roots, culture and beliefs, the final decimation of their numbers is nothing but a shock and an eternal blow on the conscience of the world ( except for the residents of US).

The world is surprised at the massacre of the original owners of North America, the natives by the immigrant from Europe over 522 years ever since the first westerner landed.  Americans say this decimation was not entirely an act of oppression or war, they take refuge in the theory that illness and poor immunity of native Indians to measles, smallpox etc. killed most of them. But who brought the germs, bacteria and virus from Europe ? Why were the natives not given treatment and let to die on their own ?

The native Indian population dwindled to less than 10 % in the present times as per 2010 census, just 5 million, ie 45 million have been wiped out from planet earth in 500 years. Some historians even put the numbers at 95 million in 500 years .. Out of a population of 314 million in US, only 5 million are the original owners of the land. How sad !! US talks of being the greatest democracy in the world.

We have to ask this question now, who have carried out the greatest genocide against fellow humans in world history ? Is it the Germans or the immigrants who settled in America ? Why are Americans not accepting the truth and guilt of their genocide even now ? Where are they taking that country now ?  Why are they not ready to accept that  any act of violence will have an equally cruel reaction, time is the only factor.

Out of ignorance and poor knowledge of world history when immigrants from all parts of the world come to settle in someone else's land, are they not ensuring that their progeny will be wiped out for no fault of theirs ?

For some ignorance is still a bliss !!

Formula-hybrid competition at Dartmouth, New Hampshire, US. April 28 - May 1, 2014.

When our son Easaw George, at NMIT Bangalore doing his final year Electrical Engineering,, came to me last July, 2013, asking that he and his friends were looking around to do a project on developing a simple version of a Hybrid formula I car which could do some of the functions of a professional one,  and would in the process enable them to learn some of the basics of automobile engineering and mechanics, I thought it was a great idea., though I was skeptical whether it would be completed on time.   I said, why not ? practical fabrication projects help one to learn basic concepts which will be great learning.  So was born ..

Easaw George ..
By the way, NMIT also happens to the first Engg college in the country to send a micro-satellite to space and the only Engg college to have sent two micro-satellites to space.  Incidentally it also happens to be having the only amateur satellite tracking station (AMSTRAC) in the country.

Now it is almost getting over, my son is finishing his engineering course. Contrary to all expectations, the students have done exceedingly well. After spending thousands of hours, and gruelling 20 hr days, their efforts are finally bearing fruit.
The students had already registered for a college level competition in the US, Theyer School of Engineering in Laudon, New Hampshire sponsored by IEEE and SAE. From April 28 to May 1, 2014, the hybrid formula I competition will be held there.

On this project, his mates have already put in thousands of hours of work, at least ten times what they would have otherwise done in a normal final year project in an engineering college. The team leader Rushikiran, also had a blackout / sunburn out of hard work and exertion in the middle of a busy road in North Bangalore where he just dropped unconscious from his bike onto the road while riding it alone to meet one of the vendors. The kind public, lifted him from the road and reached him to a hospital where he stayed for two days to regain his energy.

These youngsters are very committed to get this car run on New Hampshire race tracks. I also appreciate the kind of rudimentary project management they carry out and the sharing of responsibilities and legwork, all working together against a tough and strict deadline for shipping the car to US in three weeks time. In between they also attend classes at College, about 10 kms from the workshop, so that they do not become ineligible to sit in the exams coming by end April- beg May.

A prototype of the chassis ..
About the competition -

The present running week ending 23 March 2014, is the timelimit for submitting the electrical engineering integration design, the boys are presently eating fire and passing through some tense moments because of some last minute glitches at the electrical product integration of the car with batteries, starter etc..  I am helping them to get connected with MRF, Schneider, Tata Motors, Toyota and Mahindra hybrid or conventional car electrical designers. (pic courtesy Theyer School of Eng.)

Hopefully the problems should get sorted out soon and the team will be off to US on April 25 and back by May 7. Doing this project with RVCE Bangalore friends, a team of about 12 members are flying to US. Another team from India taking part is from Delhi College of Engineering.

The financials are being borne by NMIT and RVCE (possibly with some help from Bharat Ratna Prof C N R Rao) for transportation of the vehicle to US and back, coming to app 12 lacs INR. The cost of fabrication is being borne by the students as also the travel to US and back with local expenses ..

New hampshire Motor Speedway, the crowds ..
Have been telling Easaw and their team, that taking part in such prestigious competitions is a big learning by itself. Great confidence boosting measure !! I hope all the youngsters take part in such global competitions and prove their mettle. Initially itself one may not come out successful.

Go there, see how other teams are prepared and look at their designs / technology and learn from the process. At times, learning is much important than winning in life, preparing oneself for greater successes in life ..

New Hampshire Motor Speedway, top view ..

Toyota Camry cars in a NASCAR rally competition .. is an IEEE and SAE sponsored respected competition in US.

Theyer school of Engineering is not looking only at the speed of the car, they are looking at the time and fuel consumption for 44 kms of race track running of the car on the New Hampshire highspeed motorway, its versatility, time to accelerate from 1 to 60mph or so, and gradient riding performance, overall fuel and energy consumption,  market presentation on introducing a successful product line etc.

Innovations matter more than winning, as here would evolve some of the better designs that auto giants would integrate into their product lines for the vehicles of the future. It guides the path the global automobile industry would pursue in the coming twenty years.

Hope the experience becomes a great learning for the students. Finally nothing would have been possible but for divine guidance and providence. We thank the almighty for being by our side always and giving us the directions.

PS : As per latest information, Easaw also happens to be one of the four race drivers on the New Hampshire racetracks for his college car..

Out of 24 teams the NMIT-RVCE team from India gets the 9 th position ..

Prof. Vijay Govindarajan, Tuck school of business talking to his alumni .

A very interesting one hour talk from Prof Vijay Govindarajan from Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth, NH where he has been trying to impress upon the elderly Tuck alumni of the need to reinvent oneself, start thinking out of the box. To develop business models for the developing world and use them in the developed world rather than try to relocate western business models to the developing world.

Higher-on-maiden at NMIT Bangalore..

Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Yelahanka Bangalore where my son Easaw George is in his final semester of Electrical Engineering is hosting Anaadyanta, www.anaadyanta.or, one of the few National level techno cultural festivals in bangalore. Higher-on-maiden, the official tribute band of Iron Maiden of UK is playing on the final day, ie. today. When I am writing this post higher-on-maiden is performing to a capacity audience in the college at 8 PM on 12 March 2014.

Yesterday Easaw ( who is also the cultural co-ordinator of the college) and his friends went to the hotel where higher-on-maiden was put up. There is a big request of 500 tickets for the metal band show from people from the North East. Looks like they are mad after Iron Maiden.. Great ..

This is besides the large gathering of students who have come from different parts of the country to hear this metal band.

How great spiritual scholars communicate ?

I happened to read some of the great works of HG Paulos Mar Gregorios, listened to some talks and writings by Fr Dr. K M George and other learned people in the Malankara Orthodox Syrian church as also some good speakers from other denominations.

One point which I came across, is that all of them use the human brain and intuition from the spiritual perspective as the greatest weapon in their reasoning and explanation. They never browbeat the audience or reader checking his or her in-depth knowledge of the Bible verse by verse.

Taking a verse from the Bible and then dissecting it and beating it repeatedly till the last juice has been taken out of it is a usual ploy used by most of the Biblical speakers, especially in conventions, to kill time and capture the attention of the audience. But there are some of them who deliver high quality stuff with enough points and matter.

Beware Televangelists or TV evangelists ..

Morning time one cannot switch on any TV channel as it is full of Televangelists try to brow beat you with all sorts of promises of wealth, health, happiness and so on.

We find people with the Bible and ready to shout you down, making us completely guilty of our normal life, promising us happiness, good health, wealth and so on, if we do as they command. Beware, run away from them. These televangelists are speakers who bore you till the end. They pay for TV time or get paid for TV time depending on the popularity of the speaker. Thesespeakers try to confuse you with select passages taken from the Bible and interpreted their own way, ( these people are not not responsible to anyone, do not belong to any conventional group or church and can talk any thing they want in the name of preaching to confuse the believers). They give an impression that by listening to them, Gods divine grace through the wireless signals will come to you from the TV studios in which they stand. Usually these are recorded and played at different times, making the whole thing a big farce.

So, the next time you switch on the TV, you see some of them on TV , switch it off or switch over to another channel. Your time will be well spent.
